F1 Race Predictions Spanish Grand Prix 2023

The Spanish Grand Prix is one of the oldest racing events in the world and is currently held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This year in 2023 they have opted to change the course back to a pre 2007 final sector with the return of the fast, sweeping penultimate corner. Lewis Hamilton says it's going to be "fun" while Lando Norris is "not looking forward to it". We will definitely expect faster laps than last years pole position from Leclerc at 1:18.750.
WINNER
It can sound boring that we are choosing Max Verstappen as the winner for the Spanish Grand Prix, but the fact is that Verstappen is one of the most talented drivers on the grid and has the best car as well. There are only two other drivers at the moment that has the right combination of skills and car to challenge Verstappen, Sergio Perez at Redbull and Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin. However, the chances of one of these drivers beating Verstappen is unlikely.
Our prediction for the Winner of this years race in Spain is Max Verstappen.
PODIUM
Looking back at the performance this year of Fernando Alonso, he might be one of the few drivers on the grid that can challenge Max Verstappen this season. From he last six races Alonso has podium five times and this week at the Spanish Grand Prix we expect nothing less than another podium for Alonso. He has been very consistent in his driving and risk taking. Alonso and team have been doing a great job keeping the Ferrari and Mercedes behind him.
Our prediction for a Podium finish at this years race in Spain is Fernando Alonso.
TOP 6 FINISH
Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton have been very comfortable with the new changes that was made last week, and as a result they have finished fourth place at the Monaco Grand Prix. We believe that Hamilton will only get more confident driving this car and will improve his pace every week. Hamilton might not be ready yet for the Podium, but we are confident it wont take that long. Besides if anything changes at the front Hamilton will take the advantage to reach podium.
Our prediction for a Top 6 Finish at this years race in Spain is Lewis Hamilton.
IN THE POINTS
Last week it seemed that we have made a bold decision choosing Esteban Ocon in the Points, but after qualification in Monaco it was very clear why we had chosen him as he had given his best performance yet during qualification and during the race. This week is no different, as Ocon and Alpine have shown great progress and finally seem able to be in the points every week. This goes for both Ocon and Pierre Gasly who is Ocon's teammate at Alpine.
