Championship standings after Spanish Grand Prix 2023

The Spanish Grand Prix is one of the oldest racing events in the world and is currently held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This year in 2023 they have opted to change the course back to a pre 2007 final sector with the return of the fast, sweeping penultimate corner. Lewis Hamilton says it's going to be "fun" while Lando Norris is "not looking forward to it".

The race in Spain brought many surprises, and one of them are the Mercedes! The Mercedes are Back! This race was surely one to remember for them, both Lewis Hamilton and George Russel was able to podium finishing P2 and P3. Last week they made some changes to the car and are finally seeing the results coming to light. They are slowly getting more confident in the car and this weekend it surely showed. What can we expect from them next race?

Another surprise is Lance Stroll. 'when the student beats the teacher', Lance has finished in P6, while Fernando Alonso finishes in P7. Its nice to see Lance keeping up with the pace of the car, but on the other hand we had really wished to see Fernando on the Podium for a Home race. Aston Martin have been phenomenal all season long and this race is but the second time he did not end up on the Podium.

What a performance by Guanyu Zhou in the Alfa Romeo. Zhou is second driver and would expect him to finish behind Valtteri Bottas, but not today! Zhou had an amazing performance and made sure to be in the Points. Zhou finished P9 and was able to add another two points to his tally. He is now standing in 14th position tied in points with his teammate Bottas.

What is the formula 1 Constructors Championship standings after the race in Spain?

In addition to the driver's championship, there is also a constructor's championship, which takes into account the performance of the entire team. The constructor's championship is awarded to the team that accumulates the most points throughout the season. This means that even if a driver has an exceptional season, does not mean that they automatically win the Constructors Championship. Both drivers need to earn enough points for the team to be able to compete against the other teams.
