Championship standings after Miami Grand Prix 2023

The Formula 1 championship is based on a points system. The winner of each race receives 25 points, second place receives 18 points, third place receives 15 points, and so on, with the tenth-placed driver receiving 1 point. The driver with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the world champion.

Miami Grand Prix had a very exciting qualifying, with many different scenarios as expected. Stroll and both McLaren was left behind in Q1. Afterwards, it was Hamilton who did not get his best time out and for the first time this season out in Q2. Q1 also had an unexpected turn, where Charles Leclerc had crashed with 1.3 minutes remaining, where they had to stop the qualiy leaving Max Verstappen without a time and starting in 9th Position. At the end however, the redbull had a very strong strategy starting on the hards and pushin it to the limits to pass everyone up to second place, and then making a last minute tyre change to overtake Sergio Perez for first place.
