Hamilton was able to defend his position on the podium and win his second consecutive podium win.
Alex Albon wins Driver of the Day
Albon had an amazing weekend in Canada delivering his best performance of the season. Starting in qualification by choosing the right tires at the right moment to top the qualification times and ultimately qualify in the top 10. During the race he also did an excellent job by defending his position from a number of hungry drivers behind him with a perfect execution and strategy to secure P7. This brilliant performance was noted by the fans and he was awarded with the Driver of the Day.
Ferrari both drivers ends up in top 6
It has been a tough season for the Ferrari team and drivers, with multiple unlucky instances, but this weekend luck was on their side. While the bosses aim to win a race, this was definitely a step forward reaching fourth and fifth position. Both Sainz and Leclerc were able to stretch the medium tires long and therefore creating space to compete in the front. Leclerc has only finished higher once this year while Sainz has classified fifth in four of the last five races.
