It was very unfortunately for Sergio Perez last week as he had an early exit out in Mexico and on the other hand it was very fortunate for Lewis Hamilton as battled his way to P2.
It is for these two reasons that the gap between P2 and P3 in the drivers championship is only 20 points difference. Both drivers are planning in giving it their all in order to battle for that second position.
In amongst the fight between the top teams is an intriguing battle to be runner-up behind Max Verstappen. Most drivers say they aren’t interested in whether they finish second or third because their aim is to be champion, but the competitor inside them always wants to be as high up as possible.
Lewis Hamilton is ready to take the fight to Red Bull! He is determined to claim a strong result at the Brazilian Grand Prix and if Red Bull doesn't bring their A Game, he is ready to capitalize on that. Lewis has no plans to end the 2023 season without a victory like last season, and know his best chance is here in Sao Paolo.

Daniel Ricciardo has spoken about his focus for 2023 and rebuilding himself after a strong weekend last week in Mexico as he finished in 7th position. It was Ricciardo’s first points of the season and enough to move AlphaTauri up two positions in the constructors’ championship.
With this result many positive headlines came out about Ricciardo and him being back at his best. He is after all 8 time race winner.
While Ricciardo was feeling confident about Alpha Tauri’s potential ahead of the weekend in Mexico, he was still taken aback slightly by their level of performance in qualifying.
Now Ricciardo is thinking solely about the upcoming weekend in Sao Paolo, which will feature the final Sprint of the 2023 season.
“As obviously positive and awesome as Mexico was, it’s now that you switch the focus to this weekend,” he concluded. “It’s nice coming into a weekend after a good result, but we have to start from scratch here in terms of we’ve got one practice session. I think we’ve got a bit more confidence with where to start the car with set-up, but different track, different conditions. We’ll come in with the confidence but definitely staying grounded.”
